CUSTOM HOMES
Last year, my wife and I were looking for a builder to build our final home in Centerville Conservation. I called Tom with my ideas of a floor plan and amenities. We worked together through a couple various plans till we put together a plan that worked for us. We started construction in October and presently we are in the middle of construction, and I can say it has been the smoothest build process we’ve ever experienced. I say this as a homeowner who has built six homes. Tom and Wade make a great team and are always available to run ideas and questions by about the project. They take the extra time and thought to deliver the best home possible. They are always looking for ways to make the house better than just what was on the plan. Their experience helps make it a truly enjoyable customer home build process. We are currently ahead of schedule even in this challenging build time. In 2012, I had purchased a lot in Tuscan Hill and I was looking for a luxury home builder. I talked to my fellow physicians in the Tallahassee medical community and they said, Tom Ertl. Tom and I worked on a floor plan to meet my family’s needs. During construction, Tom came up with some suggested changes in the second floor plan that turned out to be an excellent additional space. Wade was closely involved on a daily basis making sure the work was professionally completed. His quality and finished work produced a beautiful home both inside and out. We are very proud of what they produced and we love showing our home to our friends and family. My wife and I moved to Tallahassee in 2016 from South Florida. We looked at every possible available existing home. None of the floor plans met our expectations. In the process, we viewed and Ertl Homes. We contacted Tom and asked him and his designer to come up with a luxury-looking North Carolina elevation of stone and brick that was what we were looking for.Tom came up with a unique interior trim package that matched the exterior elevation and the look we wanted. Tom and his staff worked well with our designer and were always responsive to our desires. Tom and Wade have a definite eye for design and proportion. We took his suggestions which gave us a beautiful home. He and his staff were always responsive to any warranty items we had. We highly recommend Tom and Wade.

The worst mistake we ever made 20 years ago was not having Tom Ertl build our home. The best decision we made 4 years ago was having him do our renovation. Tom helped us with the design and scope of the renovations. He had some great ideas and was willing to look at our lifestyle and interests before he made his suggestions. He was very cost conscious and creative. He kept his men on the job and he made sure things were done right and on time. Tom fixed all the things we did wrong when we first built our home and if we ever build again or do anything else to our home, we will certainly hire Ertl Homes to do the work.

When setting out to start a whole house remodel, we knew that Tom Ertl would be at the top of our list. We had been a long-time fan of his new construction homes that we had toured over the years or that he had built for our friends. His traditional styles, beautiful craftsmanship and attention to details are what drew our attention to him when seeking out a contractor to remodel our 20 year old home. From our first meeting with Tom, he was extremely professional and was able to provide us with competitive quotes for the jobs we were requesting. Tom even provided us with many additional ideas and suggestions to make our home more functional and overall more beautiful once completed. During our entire remodel process, Tom Ertl and his partner, Wade Wilson, were very easy to work with and always on the job site for me to speak to in person. During our remodel process, our four young children wanted to be a part of the experience to ‘help’ remodel our future home. Tom and his crew made my children feel welcome, safe and allowed them to provide their input throughout the entire process. This was a family project and Tom included all of us from the start. We have continued to recommend Tom to our friends and family due to the wonderful outcome and experience we had. There is no doubt in my mind if we even contemplated building a new home in the future we would definitely make it another Ertl Home!
