Our Story
Tom Ertl began building custom homes in Tallahassee’s developments of Killearn Estates and Ox Bottom Manor in 1987. From there he entered the luxury market and built homes in the subdivisions of Golden Eagle, Rose Hill, Bobbin Trace, Pilckem Ridge, Tuscan Hill, Vieux Carre, Hermitage, and many others.
With over 35 years of homebuilding excellence, Tom has helped set the benchmark for luxury homes in the Tallahassee area. By partnering with Wade Wilson, his trusted associate of 23 years, Tom continues to offer this trusted quality service for select clients as Ertl Wilson Homes.
Wade Wilson discovered his passion for homebuilding at just 17 years old. During his senior year at Chiles High School, he began working under the mentorship of Tom Ertl. From day one, Tom instilled in Wade the attention to detail and commitment to quality that defines every Ertl home.
Wade quickly advanced from supervising subcontractors to managing entire projects. His respectful and straightforward approach and professionalism earned the trust of both clients and subcontractors alike. Over time, he became a key point of contact for clients—helping them select lots, refine house plans, and make the many decisions that bring a custom home to life.
For more than 23 years, Wade has played a vital role in the Ertl Homes legacy, personally overseeing hundreds of projects including custom builds, remodels, and renovations.
A lifelong Tallahassee resident, Wade is deeply rooted in the community. He is an active member of Trinity Community Church with his wife, Stacey, and their three sons.
